Bochum with the Falkens 12th-16th November 2004

Every year for the last 20 years, Woodcraft Folk in Sheffield and the Falkens in Wattenscheid, Bochum have visited one another. In November, the adults spend a long weekend together, getting to know one another and planning a trip for the kids the following Easter. This was my first visit to Bochum, and I stayed with Andy. We had a great few days, visiting the Klecks Falkenheim (the Falken's youth centre/café which is always buzzing with activity), watching the football (if I remember rightly, Bochum lost 4-1 to Bayern Munich), a day trip to Cologne and, on the last night, drinking through until dawn.
