Indian Gill

When I first saw Gill, she was 16 years old and giving a speech at a national conference of the Woodcraft Folk. She succeeded in rousing the mass of the 500-odd people there to turn against the national executive. I was impressed.
I got to know her two years later, when we were both part of a Woodcraft Folk delegation to India. As you can see, we made a beautiful couple(!). Of course, I never had the courage to ask her out until the last possible moment, when we had arrived back in England, by which time we had to go our respective ways across the country. Things didn't last. Fortunately, I got another chance 3 years later!
